Volunteer with us
At CCL, we have just two paid members of staff — the rest of our team are amazing volunteers. We rely on the support of our community to keep the library welcoming, active, and open for everyone.
If you can spare 2–3 hours a week, we’d love to hear from you. No experience is needed — we provide full training and support. Basic IT skills are helpful, but the most important thing is a friendly, welcoming attitude.
We offer a warm, safe, and inclusive environment, and whether you’re looking to volunteer short-term or become part of our long-term team, you’ll be very welcome.
What you’ll do
As a Library Volunteer, you’ll help support the front-of-house team by:
- Welcoming visitors to the library
- Helping people borrow and return books
- Connecting users with activities, services, and support
If you have a particular skill you’d like to share, we’d love to hear about that too.
