Community mosaic: the big unveiling
Join us as we celebrate the unveiling of our new Community Mosaic!
Made possible through Arts Council funding, this exciting project has brought local people together to create a large-scale mosaic celebrating the diversity, heritage and cultures of the communities living on and around the Corbett Estate in Catford, as well as across the wider borough of Lewisham.
The finished artwork will be permanently installed in the foyer of the library, creating a lasting legacy for the local community. It reflects the rich identity of the area, strengthens community pride and helps ensure that future generations can see the library as a place of creativity, connection and belonging.
Come and celebrate with us
Join us under our dome for the big reveal, with:
- Short speeches from guest speaker Lucy Manghan; a local Guardian and i journalist who opened our library back in 2016, and lead mosaic artist Tamara Froud
- Music and refreshments
- Cake and celebrations
- The opportunity to be among the first to see our wonderful new mosaic
There will also be an opportunity to watch a film about the project, capturing the creative process and the people who helped bring the mosaic to life.
