Enjoying Corbfest 2025!

Did someone say Pimm's O'Clock?! With the beautiful weather we've been having, we hope you'll join us for a Pimm's at Corbfest 2026 on Saturday 11 July, 11–5pm!

This event is one of our biggest fundraisers of the year, and we like to think it helps bring our community together to celebrate all the talent and creativity across the estate.

We're delighted that Little Rainbow Day Nursery has sponsored this year's event, and we'd like to thank them for their community spirit and support.

This year, the event spans five venues across the estate over the whole weekend. We'll also be hosting a range of interactive workshops and live music. See our full line-up below for more details.

As it's also the start of the Summer Reading Challenge on 4 July, we'd love to encourage as many children as possible to take part.

Please read on to find out more about everything happening at the library this month and beyond!

Brian, Katriona and Rob leading under 5s singing

Under 5s Songtime Interview with Brian

What activity do you run? Under 5s Songtime on a Monday morning, 9:30-10 and 10:15-10:45.

Can you tell us a little about it? The group was started by Hessie, a retired music teacher, who then recruited Katriona. I’ve assisted with it since I started and it’s a fantastic way to start the week. When Hessie sadly had to leave, me and Katriona kept it going, and the group has gone from strength to strength, with Rob and Joel recently being recruited. We have a set list of songs and also take requests, which we never turn down (even if we have to get attendees’ to help because we don’t know it!). We also sing happy birthday to the children and greet them all in a song! We receive fantastic feedback, parents find it a great way to start the week and very educational for children, helping them with social skills in particular. Some weeks we have around 120 attendees over both sessions!

What do you like about running your activity here specifically? I love the community! It’s thriving, friendly, and very helpful when anyone needs anything. I’ve lived and worked in a lot of communities and this is one of the best I’ve known. There’s such a variety of activities and services on offer at the library, every day of the week.

Is anything else you’d like to tell us? What I’d like most for this group would be for it to continue to grow and thrive for as long as possible! It would be great if we were able to run it forever.
