Service up-date in Tier 4
As we draw near to the end of 2020, we want to connect and wish you a very Merry Christmas and safe, healthy and successful 2021! We’ve been so pleased that we could continue to serve our community during what has been a difficult year. Thank you for your sustained support. We hope you get a chance to rest during the holidays.
We’re closing for Christmas from Tuesday 22nd December and re-open from Monday 4th January 2021. In the New Year we will once again re-open to offer much needed services such as click & collect, lucky dip book bundles, urgent PC use, printing & photocopying, doorstep chat and jigsaw swop!
Opening hours 11am – 1pm & 2.30-4.30pm Mondays and Thursdays
#More than just a library
A lot of our regular activities will cease running due to the Tier 4 restrictions. We will, however, maintain Online Support Services in which two of our fantastic volunteers help people to complete online forms and applications that they are struggling with. They have helped around 37 people since August with Re-housing, Disabled Freedom Pass, Blue Badge, Taxi card, anti-social neighbours, Council Tax, dept, universal credit and employment.
We are also still running our Doorstep chat service. If you have a neighbour, relative or friend who is feeling isolated, lonely or fearful of the outside world we are here to help. We have volunteers who will visit people and have a social distance chat on their doorstep or go for a shortwalk with them.
Lastly to fill those cold dark evenings we have Jigsaw swop! Here at the library we have been donated a bunch of jigsaws which you can come in and borrow/swop or keep. We treat all donations the same as books so they are quarantined for 72 hrs before going out to a new customer.
We look forward to welcoming you back into the library in the New Year!
